Collages, mash-ups, photomanipulations, compilations; They all are basically the same thing: Choosing a subject you want your design te be about, mix them up with some good elements and colours and produce stunning artwork.
But how do you define "good elements"? This depends on the kind of design you're making. There are some kind of elements that keep on repeating on several kinds of modern design.
Of course, you must remember that this is a round-up of the most used elements at this moment. This doesn't mean that you should stick with them: Be on top of the game, but be innovative and try something new! But for now: Here's a great collection of most used elements in collage artwork. Get inspired and be amazed! Tags: elements photoshop collage inspiration

Inspiration can be found everywhere. Even in the games that everybody knows. Game heroes like Mario, Link, Donkey Kong and Mega Man are characters that almost everybody will recognize in an instant.
This article is showing the colours of game heroes just to feed your inspiration fluids and get them juiced up. I had to leave out heroes that don't have much color (like Solid Snake) or didn't had a high quality picture (like BattleToads). Enjoy! Tags: inspiration colours game heroes

Recently, I started "Tweeting" on Twitter. I was really skeptical first, but now that I'm getting the hang of it, I really start to like it.
I saw an article on Tutorialblog on how to create a unique website for Twitter updates. Actually a really good post, but when I looked at the Twitter API, I thought there were much more possibilities. That's when I started diggin' in the code and created an extended version of the Twitter website. Your own profile information is added, tweets from friends and a couple of random followers. Just check out the demonstration.
I'm not going into the PHP details this time (only some explanation on the configuration - Comments are added if you really need to know), but you can download the page from the download section.
Remember: Almost everything on that page is dynamically loaded from Twitter. When updates are made (by you or your friends), the page automatically changes too (after reload). Oh, and while you're at it: Follow me on Twitter for more updates! Tags: twitter webdesign website

Although I'm a programmer, I love to take a brake and spare my free time behind Photoshop. This is the main reason I'm subscribed to the (Dutch) Advanced Photoshop magazine. The magazine is easy to read, has loads of inspirational articles and really nice tutorials (they call it master classes). The Dutch version is the "daughter" of the UK version.
One of the most notable things on each magazine is the cover. You can imagine that the covers of a Photoshop magazine have to be creative and inspiring, which (of course) is true. This article is showing 10 covers of the Dutch Advanced Photoshop magazine.
The pictures are taken by me and I apologize for any "reflections" on the magazine. If you like one, I recommend you to check out the portfolio website from the artist. Be ready to get inspired! Tags: advanced photoshop covers netherlands magazine inspiration
