As you might already know, I'm Dutch. This simply means that I was born and live in a country called The Netherlands (a.k.a. Holland). When looking at prejudices: The country of cheese, wooden shoes, windmills and (legal) drugs.

But I'm not the only one having roots in this part of the world. A couple of (big) companies started their business here. Some of them became really big and grew to international sizes.

Today, I present you a list with business logos from companies that have their roots in the Netherlands. One this really noticed me when making this list: Loads of logos use the colour blue.

I have to admit: These logos are not the most beautiful ones I've ever seen. Still, I'm pretty sure you can draw some inspiration by looking at these. Get ready to get your identity design fluids going!

Planet Collision: Free November 2009 Calendar Wallpaper was originally my entry for the Desktop Wallpaper collection on SmashingMagazine. Sadly, my wallpapers weren't selected to be included in the list, but I still wanted to share them with the rest of the world.

I hope you enjoy them and use them as your wallpaper. These wallpapers are totally free for all kinds of use. Next to the versions that has a calender on them, the non-calender version has been included (in case you want to use it in other months too).

These wallpapers come in a 4:3 (normal) and 16:9 (widescreen) aspect ratio. Also, an iPhone version has been included. The wallpaper was my outcome after following the great space explosion tutorial.

The readers (or regular visitors) of Marcofolio.net, must already know that I'm a true programmer. Although this is a fact, I do love to kick up Photoshop some times and create something outstanding. For that reason, I'm also subscribed to the Dutch version of Advanced Photoshop - a great Photoshop magazine. The magazine shares some great Photoshop techniques, as wel as good written tutorials and inspirational articles.

Last year, I placed an article online called "Advanced Photoshop Covers (NL #01 - #10)". As you could have expect, this is part 2 of the Dutch Advanced Photoshop Covers that are so inspirational, that you'll surely get your design fluids flowing.

It has been a while since I placed my previous high resolution texture pack online. Today, I'm presenting you another texture pack called Water Splashes. This pack contains 8 textures (1500 px of width) of some great water splashes behind a speedboat. I made these pictures while traveling to Camiguin (Philippines).

I hope you enjoy them and use them well. The textures are totally free for all kinds of use.

Inspiration can be found everywhere. Whether it's the colour of toons or the colours of game heroes that can get your inspiration fluids flowing, the fact remains that you can get inspiration from them.

Today, we're looking at the animal kingdom to draw some inspiration from. Not the full animal kingdom, just a specified part: colourful insects. Some of these insects have amazing colour, while others like to keep it on a suble yet noticeable green hue.
