Gravatar image Really cool HDR photography, although it isn't realistic all the time, but it certainly is beautiful!

Gravatar image These are very nice - however, they do all look very Photoshopped rather than actual HDR photos.

To take a true HDR photo don't you need to take 3 or so images with different ISO settings etc? Not sure if that would be possible with the rally cars.

The blue bike looks far too photoshopped (sit back and you can see the 'outline' where the work stops) - I would of thought that would of been the easiest one to take a real HDR photo of. I expect many of these are stocks that have then been worked on.

Either way, they are all very impressive work regardless.

Thanks for another great image roundup!

Gravatar image Hi Jack,

Thanks for your great comment: You're absolutely right (I think you explain what Robbie is thinking).

HDR (especially when they're shopped) is more a form of art than actual photography. On the other side, it still is great to see.

It's true that a real HDR should be taken with 3 images with different light-adjustments (check out the tutorials). But indeed: There are techniques to do it with one image.

I personally think Photoshopping the HDR is OK, but you don't need to overdue the effect. They look great without!

Gravatar image Hi Roland,

You mean the picture that isn't linked to another website?

Good that you mention it: I found the image randomly online (not on Flickr / DeviantArt nor another site), which is the reason I couldn't link it to the source.

Could you provide me with the URL where you originally uploaded it so I could add the proper link to the source? Thanks!

Greetings,
