As you might already know, I'm Dutch. This simply means that I was born and live in a country called The Netherlands (a.k.a. Holland). When looking at prejudices: The country of cheese, wooden shoes, windmills and (legal) drugs.

But I'm not the only one having roots in this part of the world. A couple of (big) companies started their business here. Some of them became really big and grew to international sizes.

Today, I present you a list with business logos from companies that have their roots in the Netherlands. One this really noticed me when making this list: Loads of logos use the colour blue.

I have to admit: These logos are not the most beautiful ones I've ever seen. Still, I'm pretty sure you can draw some inspiration by looking at these. Get ready to get your identity design fluids going!

Cryothic - IKEA?   2009-11-09 11:08:47 Being dutch myself, I can't stop wondering what IKEA is doing in this list. Since it's a Swedish company, and opened a first IKEA store in The Netherlands 35 years after the company started (according to Wikipedia) But, nice list, with some nice logo's. The problem with these company-logo's is that most could use a nice restyle. But then the would lose some recognision, I guess. So I doubt they will do that any time soon Reply | Quote

Marco   2009-11-09 12:42:13 Hi Cryothic! First off - thanks for your comment . You're absolutely right about IKEA - I was stunned myself when I came across the company when making this list. It was indeed founded in Sweden, but since it is owned by a Dutch-registered foundation and the headquarters are in The Netherlands, I did include it in this list. I guess I should have added that in this post, I hope you understand . Philips recently did a logo redesign, but only slightly changed their font and color. Akzo Nobel has made even more changes to their logo . Glad you enjoyed the list! Reply | Quote
