Motion typography (or kinetic typography) refers to the art and technique of expression with animated text. Expressing yourself through animated words with graphics can be really convincing and cool to see. Flying, floating, growing, expanding, turning characters is what you'll see in the next minutes. I've selected 15 very nice motion typography movies. Some are more breathtaking than others, but they're all outstanding. They all know how to use typography very well and it'll be a joy for your eyes, although some will be really fast.  You can get a massive design inspiration kick just by watching these videos. I wouldn't mind if real film starters or music videos in the future will be like this.
If you want to create such a movie on your own, you can try Adobe After Effects or SWiSH Max. (Movie) Dialogs  Ocean's ElevenI love this movie! The motion typography video is, just like the movie itself, a "must see". The effects are really clever. Full Metal JacketAnother well known movie. The recipe is simple: Taking a famous scene from the classic film + Adding motion typography = A beautiful movie. The Devil's AdvocateAlthough I didn't like the particular film, I did like the way this kenetic typography movie displays one of the conversations in the movie. Pulp FictionJust like the Ocean's Eleven one: A must see movie with a must see motion typography video. The MatrixEveryone must that has seen this movie must recognize this dialog shown in the kinetic typography movie. Although the effect in the movie isn't as impressive as the film, it's still nice to watch. Kill BillAnother one of Quentin Tarantino creations made it to a typography movie. Although I found the movie more amusing than the typography, it's still very impressive how it looks. Duck and CoverTypography using audio from an old public service announcement called "Duck and Cover" from the 50s. An absolute must see.Music  The Hush Sound's - We IntertwinedIt was an absolute bummer this movie ended so abruptly. Growing words, nice blur and much more are some of the effects used in this great vid. The Hush Sound - The Lions RoarFrom the page: we decided to do a typographical motion graphic piece to one of The Hush Sound's songs. We love the band, we love typography, we love design, and we love motion graphics. Heavily inspired by motion graphics studio MK12, we decided to try our shot at it. And what a shot it was, just watch. Weezer - Surf Wax AmericaAlthough the creator of this vid calls it "really bad", I don't think it's that bad at all. Flash causes the video to move a little bit out of sync, but the typography and effects are great! Streetlight Manifesto - Point CounterpointThis movie was created with SWiSH Max. Pretty simple, but the colors and typography is very well used. I'll never get to heaven if I'm singing this song. Epsilon-Blue - Look What You've DoneAn absolute must see! Although the song doesn't impress me very much, the kinetic typography does. This has to be one of the best typography videos on this list. Citizen Cope - Let The Drummer Kick (AFX)The effects used in this movie are absolutely outstanding. Every word is taken literally and transformed to a stunning effect.Other  Who's on firstReally fast typography video that is really funny. I can't explain this, you should watch it. Who's wife? Yes. TypographyA great video explaining by motion typography what typography is. The effects are awesome, another "must see" video. Make your type taste good!Worth mentioning  TypolutionThis isn't really a typography video, since it doesn't show words to express itself.
